Which Lagos Life business pays itself back fastest? Choose a business, how many you want, the cash you have, and how many payouts you assume per day. The calculator works out the average net per payout (income minus running costs, allowing for bad days), how many payouts it takes to pay the price back, and how much more cash you need. Every number comes from the game’s data tables, checked on October 6, 2026.

Prices, income ranges, costs and the 10% bad-day chance are from the game's data tables, checked October 6, 2026. The payout time (daily, 6 PM) and the kiosk purchase were checked in the game. We have not yet seen a first payout, so treat results as estimates.

How the numbers are worked out

  • Average income is the middle of the income range for one payout.
  • Net per payout is average income minus running costs, with a 10% chance of a bad day that costs money instead of earning it (for the trailer, an 8% chance of a breakdown that costs ₦95,000 to repair, and a ₦30,000 driver fee per run).
  • Payouts to pay back is the price divided by the net per payout, rounded up.
  • Days to pay back divides that by the payouts per day you assume. Community guides report payouts as daily, but we have not confirmed this in play.

Examples

What the calculator does not do

It does not know how often payouts happen, how many of each business you may own, or whether you must be present. We have not bought a business in play yet, so treat results as estimates. Land is covered separately in the land guide.

Questions

Which business pays back fastest? The kiosk, zobo stand and POS stand each pay back in under 100 payouts on the numbers, the Buka and barbing salon take 110 to 117, and the car wash, event centre and Quilox share take 131 to 188.

Is a bigger business better? It earns more per payout, but on these numbers it takes longer to pay back, so the choice depends on the cash you have.
